Parish Breakfast

MOOSIC - The Women's Guild of Divine Mercy Parish, 312 Davis St., will host a breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb 17, in the parish center. Featured will be cooked-to-order omelets and homemade Belgian waffles with fruit toppings.

The menu also includes home fries, sausage, bacon and homemade coffee cakes, breads and pastries.

Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children younger than 12.

Tickets will be sold after all weekend Masses, at the parish office during normal business hours, and at the door.

Hoagie and Soup Sale

MOOSIC - The Moosic Lions Club will hold its annual Lenten tuna hoagie and homemade red clam chowder sale every Friday during Lent beginning Friday, Feb. 15 through Friday, March 29. The sale runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Friday and is held at the Moosic Youth Center.

Hoagies are $4 and clam chowder is $3 per pint or $6 per quart. Proceeds from the sale will help fund the club's Easter egg hunt and scholarship fund.

Welsh Cookie Sale

TAYLOR - A Welsh cookie sale to benefit the Taylor Community Library is currently underway. Orders are being taken until Monday, March 4. Cost is $5 per dozen. Call 562-1234 for more information.

Pasta Dinner

TAYLOR - The United Baptist Church of Taylor, 125 Church St., will host a pasta dinner from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, with takeout available from 3-4 p.m. Tickets for adults are $9 and $5 for children.

Clam Chowder Sale

TAYLOR - The First Congregational Church of Taylor will sell Manhattan style clam chowder on Fridays during Lent, beginning on Friday, Feb. 15. The cost is $6 per quart and is available for takeout only. Freshly baked bread will also be sold at $3 per loaf.

Phone orders can be made by calling 562-0881. Hours for pickup are each Friday from 4-6 p.m. at the church, located at the corner of Union and Pond streets in Taylor.

Lenten Food Sales

DURYEA - A Lenten food sale will be held in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Hall, Stephenson Street, Duryea, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 13. The menu will feature potato pancakes, homemade red clam chowder along with vegetarian vegetable, homemade pierogie and haluski, pizza and a bake sale.

On Friday, March 8, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., red clam chowder and homemade pierogie, haluski, pizza and a bake sale will be available.

Bus Trip

TAYLOR - The Friends of the Taylor Community Library will sponsor a bus trip to Sight and Sounds on Saturday, April 20, to see the play "Noah" and dine at a restaurant. Cost is $125 for a member of the friends, or $130 for non-members. For more details or to make a reservation, contact the library at 562-1234.
