Retired Citizens to Meet

OLD FORGE — The Old Forge Retired Citizens Association will meet at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, at Arcaro’s and Gennell’s on Main Street in Old Forge.

Memorial Day Parade

OLD FORGE — Old Forge Borough’s annual Memorial Day parade, sponsored by the American Legion Post 513 and VFW Post 4954 will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 27. The starting point is the corner of Main and Grace streets. Participants should arrive by 9:30 a.m. The Villa Capri Cruisers will provide an “Honor Ride” in the parade for any veteran that cannot march. The parade will travel down Main Street to Moosic Road, where a ceremony will follow at the Old Forge Cemetery.

Elections

OLD FORGE — The Old Forge Veterans of Foreign Wars will hold elections at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, the post home on Main Street.

Sons of Italy

OLD FORGE — The next meeting and social for the Old Forge Sons of Italy is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Monday, May 20, at Arcaro and Genell’s banquet hall. All members are urged to attend. The meeting and social is open to any individual who is interested in becoming a member of the Sons of Italy.

Pierogie Sale

OLD FORGE — St. Michael’s Church, Church and Winter streets, Old Forge, will host a pierogie sale on Tuesday, May 21. The cost is $6 per dozen. Orders are due by Friday, May 17. Orders may be picked up from 2-5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, in the church hall.

Touchdown Club

MOOSIC/TAYLOR — The Riverside Tochdown Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, at Augustine’s Club 17 on Main Street in Taylor.

Dance Recital

TAYLOR — Dancing Dreams Studio of Dance will present “A Night at the Movies” at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, at Riverside High School, 310 Davis St., Taylor. Tickets will be available at the door. For more information call 335-6536.

Bus Trip

LUZERNE COUNTY — A bus trip to the Fall Doo Wop Show at the American Music Theater in Lancaster, Pennsylvania will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21.

Cost is $96 which includes bus seat, show ticket, dinner, all tips and taxes. A $50 deposit is required when making reservation and balance of $46 is due by Sunday, July 21. A smorgasbord dinner at Shady Maple will follow the show.
