Night at the Races
MOOSIC - Moosic RedWings will hold its yearly Night at the Races fundraiser from 7-11 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23, at the Greenwood Hose Company. Admission is $5. Doors open at 6 p.m. Refreshments will be provided.
Christmas Tree Collection
MOOSIC - The Moosic Borough Department of Public Works will pick up Christmas Trees every Thursday and Friday throughout the month of January. All decorations must be removed.
Taylor Seniors
TAYLOR - The Taylor Senior Citizens Association will hold its January meeting at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 10, in the senior room of the Taylor Community Center. Upcoming events will be discussed and refreshments will be served.
Dog Licenses
MOOSIC - Dog licenses will be available for Moosic residents between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 22, at the Moosic Borough Building, 715 Main St. Anyone desiring to obtain a license for their pet may do so at this time and date.
Ham Dinner
MOOSIC - The Moosic United Methodist Church, 609 Main St., will host a family-style ham dinner on Saturday, Feb. 16. Cost is $9, $6 for children younger than 10. Takeout will also be available. Call 457-3217 for reservations.
Hockey Night
LUZERNE COUNTY - The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) of Eastern Pennsylvania has partnered with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to present the second annual Thanks 4 Fighting Awareness Night at 7:05 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2.
Fans who purchase a ticket to that game will also receive a Penguins hat and a food voucher for a hot dog, soda and potato chips; $4 for each ticket sold will benefit LLS.
