Mia Scotti, 11, attends Riverside Elementary East. She has been chosen as a state finalist in the National American Miss Pennsylvania Pre-Teen Pageant. The big event will take place on Aug. 12 and 13 in Harrisburg. The winner will receive a $1,000, the official crown, a banner, trophy, roses, air transportation to Hollywood, and a VIP day at Disneyland.

Scotti’s interests include Girl Scouts, basketball, baton twirling, softball, cheerleading and acting.

“I also enjoy playing the piano, singing, quality time with my family and friends, volunteering at the Griffin Pond Pet Food Drive and the Children’s Advocacy Walk/Run,” she said.

In the future she plans to attend Penn State University and major in special education.
