Calling all sports fans!
Over 21? Excited about this year’s Super Bowl? Then the Moosic Raiders Jr. Football Association has a deal for you.
On Sunday, Jan. 31, adults in the football booster club will host a “pre-bowl bash” from 5-10 p.m. at Kildare’s Irish Pub in Scranton. A $5 donation at the door includes draft specials and appetizers.
“We were looking for something different,” said association president Kevin Eiden. “Rather then the same old candy bar sale, we thought this might be a great alternative to raise funds.”
Raiders T-shirts will also be available to purchase for $5 each and various raffles will be held. Funds from the event will be used to purchase uniforms and equipment for children involved in the association.
According to Deno Chiavacci, Kildare’s general manager, the Scranton-based restaurant was eager to host the fundraiser.
“We want to be part of the community and help out in whatever capacity we can,” said Chivacci. “It’s about giving back to the community. We’d love to work with other groups and organizations throughout the area. All they have to do is ask and we’ll help them out as much as possible.”
Kildare’s Irish Pub is located at 119 Jefferson Ave. in Scranton. For more information or to donate a raffle item, call Eiden at 341-7039.
