Pam Insalaca led sixth-grade students at Riverside to participate in the PA Media and Design Competition. More than 120 students participated and there were 68 submissions.

Riverside’s 2020 Media and Design Competition winners for middle school are:

Third place: John Chilleri, Santino D’Amico and Matthew McKeefery

Animation

First place: Chase Marsala

Second place: Angelo Soto

Third place: Lily Paroby

Web Page Design

First place: Tony Battaglia and Angelo D’Amico

Second place: Janese Ortiz, Domenica Pazmino-Azua and Jessdaly Torres

Third place: Odayla Gomes Cardose, McKenzie Schifano-Nichols and Kathryn O’Hora

All first-, second- and third-place winners qualified for the 2020 Regional PA Media and Design Competition at Keystone College.

Judges for the competition are: Rachel Luzio Dubernas, systems analyst at Prudential Financial; Scott J. Weiland, chair of the mass communications department and professor at King’s College, Wilkes-Barre, and Doug Womelsdorf, Riverside’s curriculum director.

Chris Feerrar, Craig Reifler, Tom Borthwick’s ESports team members and NEIU19’s Stephanie Williams created the content and program for the competition.
